VIDA’s First Shipping Rate Change

There comes a time when we have to adjust prices due to increases that are simply beyond our control. As most of you might have already noticed, the cost of fuel has gone up exponentially, and shipping carriers have raised their rates by 40% with surcharges due to these fuel cost spikes. Try as we might to keep the same costs for shipping in play for our customers, we have reached a point now where we must make a few adjustments.

Let’s give you a little background on VIDA shipping rates. When we started selling masks, our shipping cost a minimum of $3.50. If you did not know, our pricing is based on product weight brackets and shipping types (standard, expedited, two-day, and overnight). We have managed to keep these same rates for over two years now, despite the ongoing inflation.

Sadly, due to these global inflation rates, we have to make some changes. For USPS Standard shipping, our fees for a package under 0.5lb will now be $5, and for Standard shipping of a larger package between 0.5lb and 1lb, it will be $6.95. All packages over 1lb are sent by UPS's 3-day shipping service. A package just over a pound (up to 1.5lb) will be $9.50, and a heavier package up to 3 lbs is $17. VIDA will continue to offer faster shipping services as well, through UPS for 2-day and overnight shipping. All our shipping fees are pass-through rates. We’re not aiming to profit from these changes. Our goal is to balance rising shipping costs so we can continue providing comfortable, well-designed, high-performing products delivered through a reliable, trackable shipping service.
